Summer Receptions Big Success
Alumni gathered in 23 cities across the world last June for the MBA summer receptions. "It’s wonderful to see our alumni and newly admitted students at these events," says associate dean for graduate programs, Eric Hirst, who attended many of the receptions. "I’m especially pleased that we are connecting not only graduates of the full-time Texas MBA, but also graduates of the Executive MBA programs in Austin and Mexico City, the Evening MBA program, and our programs in Houston and Dallas. We’ve got strength in numbers and these events help us leverage that.” To view reception photos, go to

Survey: Alumni to Alumni Mentorship Program
We are investigating alumni interest in a mentorship program designed to allow alumni to mentor one another. We would like to get feedback from alumni like you on this type of mentorship program. We would maintain a secure database of mentors and alumni would log in to the site and search for alumni who meet their criteria. Mentors would be removed from the database after they are paired with a mentee. Take the survey.

Executive Education Offers Marketing Strategy Course, October 21-22, 2008
An organization’s ability to understand markets and create customer value is a critical factor for its long-term performance. Managers must continually tackle new challenges in their efforts to market products and services because of ever-changing markets, competitors and environments. To succeed, they must learn to recognize unmet customer needs, select specific ones to create compelling solutions for and then develop and implement lean marketing programs. The Texas Executive Education course, Marketing Strategy, will provide the foundations for building such internally consistent marketing strategies. To register, click here or call 800-409-3932. Participants earn 1.4 continuing education units (CEUs). Faculty: Kapil Jain, Ph.D., Kate Mackie, Ph.D.
